Professor Dr. Oseyemi Akinbamijo is a renown agricultural development expert who is recently appointed Professor of Agricultural Systems and Organzational Development at the Centre for Dry Land Agriculture, Bayero University, Kano. He is the immediate past Executive Director and Head of Mission of the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) with a continent-wide mandate on the coordination of agricultural research for development in Africa. Prior to this appointment Yemi was the Head of Agriculture and Food Security Division at the African Union Commission Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

A thought and process leader on agricultural research and development in Africa, Prof. Akinbamijo has considerable expertise in human, financial and natural resource management including crop-livestock integrated systems, market-oriented production systems among others. As a renowned knowledge manager and scientist in Africa, Yemi Akinbamijo is a strong analytical and strategic thinker with full awareness of and engagement in the current global discourse on agricultural and ecological transformations.

Prof Akinbamijo is a Christian, poet, songwriter and widely published in various disciplines. He is the author of the book Chances, Challenges, Changes and Costs of Agricultural Research in Africa (2023).  Yemi Akinbamijo is a distinguished leader in many spheres and has functioned in various leadership, stewardship, and incubation spaces. He is a former university lecturer (OAU-Ile-Ife) and obtained his PhD in Agriculture and Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University, The Netherlands.
