Mrs. Ekeoma Ezeibe’s Profile

Barr. (Mrs.) Ekeoma Ezeibe is the 3rd female president of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB).
A distinguished insurance lawyer and broker, Mrs. Ezeibe has over three decades of professional experience and leadership.
Her career spans legal practice, executive management, professional education, and policy advocacy.
Mrs. Ezeibe began her education at Holy Rosary Secondary School, Umuahia, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel College, Emekuku, Owerri. She earned her LL.B from the former Imo State University (now Abia State University) and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987, and later obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M) from the University of Lagos.
Her journey into the insurance sector began during her National Youth Service with Nigeria Reinsurance Corporation (Nigeria Re) in 1987–1988. Retained after her service year, she worked under the mentorship of the renowned Professor Joe Irukwu, SAN, an experience she credits as pivotal in shaping her insurance career.
She later served as Company Secretary/Legal Adviser and Head of Claims at Liberty Assurance Company Limited, and in 1992, became the pioneer Company Secretary/Legal Adviser at Industrial & General Insurance Company Limited. She went on to co-found Crystal Trust Insurance Brokers Limited with her husband, where she continues to serve as Managing Director/CEO.
Mrs. Ezeibe holds the Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, London (ACII), with distinctions in Claims Practice and Strategic Risk Management, the Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (AIIN), and is a Fellow of the Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (FCIB).
A passionate advocate for knowledge sharing and professional development, she has delivered over 40 pro bono lectures on topics including insurance law, compliance, and regulation across major industry platforms such as the NCRIB, CIIN, CIFM, IICC, and the African Insurance Brokers Association (AIBA), among others.
She is also a long-serving faculty member at the Nigerian Chamber of Shipping, where she has lectured on marine insurance for over 14 years.
